After Decades of Adaptation and Decay

A tatty copy of Thomas More's Utopia; dogeared and full of marginalia; water damaged and stained; a satire of perfection and idealism; the cover image, denoting an architectural structure(possibly the Tower of Babel).
I wanted to contrast this image with that of an image of contemporary architecture. Le Corbusier's Chandigarh; falling into neglect; dilapidated; with parts remaining unfinished; as well as the chaotic adaptations and adjustments made by contemporary Indian residents. Both images and ideas seemed to address the same issues in one way or another. The best-laid plans and ideals need to make room for the complexity of human emotions and urban development.
The image of Chandigarh was printed along the fore-edge of the book using he cyanotype process as a reference to architectural plans and blueprints. To reveal the image fully, curl the book to spread out the fore-edge.
