This book - the large print version - was on the unwanted shelf in Westbourne Library. I found this very sad, as Gerald Durrell and his foundation have saved 1000s of species of animals from extinction and his work is so relevant right now in terms of the future of the planet, plastic pollution, climate change, research, conservation and sustainability. So, I decided to go deep inside this - to take it apart and find out more. In doing so, the book literally exploded and became a 'thing' - an object, a landscape, taking up much more space than shut in a book. His words - and his adventures in Madagascar - are strange and wonderful - I hope your experience of this book is too...
